As a private pilot who owned a small plane for many years and as a captain, who has owned small boats for many years, I can tell you that it is still definitely less expensive to rent a plane or a boat then to buy one. Traveling to another state? There is a plethora of opportunities to go boating in many other states without towing your boat behind you! Making a reciprocal reservation can get you to a lot of different locations. I have reserved Freedom Boat Club boats Manahawkin, Forked River, Point Pleasant, Bay Head, and in many different locations down the east coast and on both coasts of Florida. I recently boated in Homestead Florida Freedom Boat Club to visit the northern end of the Florida Keys. From Jacksonville to Homestead to Islamorada to Fort Myers to Venice, Florida! And there are many more locations throughout the US to explore! It is a seamless process to reserve a boat. And since you take your boat safety certification class with Boat Safe US, LLC, you will also be NASBLA certified, which means your NJ boat safety certificate is accepted in all other states!
CLEANING and MAINTENANCE
Ask any boat owner what their most undesirable thing to do is after a day out on the water! I guarantee you it will be cleaning the boat! Something that must be done to keep it well maintained! In my opinion, there is no greater feeling than having the dockmaster help you take your gear off the boat and bring it to your vehicle, and knowing that you do not have to clean the boat! I find that feeling will always be worth a generous tip to the dockmaster!
