The NJSP has strict guidelines for safety during the COVID19 pandemic.
Currently, all indoor sessions are limited to 50 people in the room. Meaning, 1 instructor, and 49 students. Outdoor/Drive up exam sessions: There is no capacity limit for outdoor gatherings. Capacity will be based on how much room we have at the site. Social distancing must be practiced.
We will add more sessions if needed on a given day, to adhere to these guidelines.
All sessions will be conducted as contact-free as possible.
Please know that we will comply with CDC regulations regarding COVID19, by practicing social distancing and requiring everybody to wear their masks. All chairs and tables will be sanitized between sessions, and the process will remain contact free.
Upon successful completion of the exam, you will receive your temporary boat safety certificate. Your temporary (pink) boating safety certificate is valid for one year. You will receive your Permanent Boat Safety Certificate prior to the one year expiration of your temporary. This will take several MONTHS.
Your PERMANENT BOAT SAFETY CERTIFICATE: Due to the virus, the NJSP office personnel is limited and the permanent card will take SEVERAL MONTHS to get to you. We are confident you will receive it before your temporary certificate expires. Boat Safe US does not have any control over when the state police will print the permanent certificates. We want to do our part in helping the NJSP continue their amazing work! Our job is to keep you informed as to when you may get your permanent Boat Safety certificate. Please check our Where’s My Certificate? link to see the status of all our class and exam sessions. While we are working as a partner with the New Jersey State police it’s important that we advise all of our students NEVER to contact the state police within the first year of receiving your temporary certificate. Please let us, Boat Safe US, act as the liaison between you and the NJ State Police Marine Services Bureau. Please email our Business Administrator any concerns. (Rozi@BoatSafeUS.com)
